The City Council is now the Lead Local Flood Authority for the Sheffield area. As such, the Council has a new role to manage the risk of flooding in the city in partnership with the Environment Agency (EA) who remain the authority for the city’s main rivers.
To fulfil this new role, the Council and the EA have developed a draft strategy for managing the risk of flooding. The strategy document is available on the Council’s website at https://www.sheffield.gov.uk/floodstrategy.
We are inviting comment and feedback on the strategy and, in particular, the planned actions set out within it. There is an electronic feedback form available on the website or people can comment by: • e-mailing flooding@sheffield.gov.uk • writing to Regeneration and Development Services, Howden House at the address below. • telephoning 0114-2735847.
The closing date for feedback is 30 September 2013.
